Chiropractic

At Elevate Health and Healing, we specialize in holistic chiropractic care that focuses on enhancing the body’s natural healing abilities. Chiropractic adjustments are a gentle and effective way to alleviate pain, and improve overall wellness by restoring balance the spine and nervous system. When people hear that the term “chiropractor,” we often get looks of confusion, or nods in the assumption that all we do is “crack backs.”  There is SO much more to it than that – let me explain!

Chiropractic care is a non-invasive, drug-free approach that typically targets the musculoskeletal system. When the spine (or extremities) are misaligned, it can interfere with nervous system function, leading to pain, dysfunction, and other health issues. Chiropractic techniques work to restore alignment, relieve tension, and support your body’s ability to heal itself naturally.

Chiropractic medicine has been around since 1895, founded by D.D. Palmer.  He performed the first chiropractic adjustment to help restore one’s hearing after experiencing a trauma.

Chiropractic primarily focuses on detecting and correcting joint “subluxations,” because these misalignments and restrictions in motion are believed to impair nervous system function.  After adjusting the appropriate areas, nervous system tone is restored, allowing increased physical flexibility, as well as enhanced organ system function and energy!  Sometimes these adjustments elicit a loud “cracking” sound, but they don’t have to.  The “crack” is simply air being released from the joints, and is very safe.

Chiropractic medicine alone can be instrumental in correcting/supporting the following:

  • Digestive problems (constipation, diarrhea, heartburn, and more)

  • Anxiety/depression (and other mental health issues)

  • ADHD (and other neurodivergent concerns)

  • Immune system challenges (overcoming colds, flus, ear infections, and more)

  • Sleep imbalances

  • Hormonal disruptions

  • Elevated blood pressure (hypertension)

  • Pain and inflammation (trauma-induced, chronic, or subacute)

  • Low energy

  • Headaches

  • Allergies/Asthma

  • Improved athletic performance
